ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
These positions are located in WFP warehouses. Position holders report to the Warehouse Management Assistant/Associate or designee. Position holders are exposed to all phases of warehouse operations and work with minimal supervision. They may provide supervision and on-the-job training to other warehouse staff.
This position is based in Panama Pacifico, Panama and reports to the Senior Warehouse Manager.
THE PAPER
Manage receiving/shipping and verification of products in order to maximize the quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and support best practices in warehouse management in compliance with WFP warehouse standards and established guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (not exhaustive or comprehensive):
- Efficiently receive/dispatch goods, including transshipment (truck to truck) against approved official documentation (e.g. waybills and/or delivery notes), ensuring accurate physical count of goods, including quality, in accordance with established standards.
- Prepare, verify and sign warehouse and transportation documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records to ensure immediate reporting on commodity movements in accordance with corporate requirements.
- Perform daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory controls supporting internal control systems in compliance with warehouse management requirements.
- Conduct daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of products received/dispatched and handled, promptly detect and analyse reasons for stock discrepancies/damages, investigate missing quantities and prepare warehouse loss reports recommending appropriate solutions to enable informed decision making.
- Implement appropriate measures to safeguard food and non-food products, to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in accordance with procedures established by WFP and authorization received from the supervisor.
- Monitor warehouse and commodity status and take appropriate measures to support efficient storage space planning and well-organized storage of commodities, in accordance with WFP storage standards.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse staff to contribute to their development and high performance.

This position is open only to Panamanian citizens or residents with a permanent work permit.

Fixed-term appointments are for a continuous period of one year or more and will have a specific expiration date. The initial appointment is subject to a one-year probationary period.
