Women Entrepreneurs Program
TRADITIONAL ENTREPRENEURIALS
What is the Women Entrepreneurs Program?
Established in 2014, with the support of IDB MIF is a program that aims to impact the development and growth of businesses led and managed by women, thus decreasing inequality between women and men at the entrepreneurial level, improving the performance of these companies, their access to financing and new markets and income. The program supports both women with business ideas and running businesses, regardless of nationality or place of residence.
It has four consecutive phases, with emphasis on: improving the business profile, working on creative and innovation skills, deepening their knowledge of entrepreneurship and business development, and finally, moving on to individual mentoring.

Frequently asked questions about the Canal de Empresarias program
Every year a new call is opened and we announce it through our social networks and digital media: website, mass mailings and national media tours. To date there have been ten (10) editions of the program.
All women of legal age from anywhere in the Republic of Panama.
You must register and show your interest in the call page that we share in social networks, website and radio programs.
Once the call has ended, the program staff reviews each of the applications and informs the selected women through an email that they have been chosen to participate in the program.
The program usually consists of online and on-site modules. This year due to COVID-19, most of the program will be developed virtually and as the situation improves we will create meeting spaces, fulfilling all the necessary measures.
The program is divided into four consecutive phases that must be completed in their entirety in order to move forward.

- Online Workshops / 8 hours - Creative and Innovation Skills We will conduct workshops focused on making your business idea, or business growth/diversification, stand out in the marketplace, beyond the traditional stereotypes that often pigeonhole women into very limited business options. We will think “outside the box”, considering market forces.
- Online workshops / 32 hours + 10 hours of field work - Entrepreneurship and business development We will support women entrepreneurs and businesswomen to build a clear value proposition and from this, build their business model, validate it in the market and prepare their elevator pitch (5 minute presentation).
- Mentoring sessions with experts - Individual mentoring Selected participants will be supported according to their needs by a network of experts and mentors covering different areas of expertise: marketing, quality, management, use of technology, etc.
