We commemorate 79 years of the United Nations Organization (UN)

We commemorate 79 years of the United Nations, celebrating together with the government, the private sector, civil society and the UN agencies, funds and programs that collaborate in Panama.

On this anniversary, the United Nations Common House was also inaugurated at the City of Knowledge, which will house the offices of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the Resident Coordinator's Office (DCO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the World Food Programme (WFP), a space that symbolizes our shared vision of a more equitable and sustainable future for all.

Ana Patricia Graça, UN Resident Coordinator, said "this day is to think about the challenges and think about those who work in unimaginable areas, thinking about them and the privilege we have of being the light on the path for many."

For his part, Professor Jorge Arosemena, Executive President of the City of Knowledge Foundation, reflected on the meaning of the organization: "For me, the deep meaning of the UN is not just to resolve conflicts, nor a set of agencies, it is an entity that promotes respect among all human beings, that promotes peace, development and participation."
