The new edition of the Third National Meeting on Sustainable Development (ENADES 2020), takes place from October 19 to 23, 2020 in virtual format, organized by the network of the International Center for Sustainable Development (CIDES) of the City of Knowledge Foundation.

"This Meeting brings together the main national and international actors to discuss, expand, scrutinize and exchange opinions and information on Sustainable Development," said Professor Jorge Arosemena, Executive President of the City of Knowledge Foundation, at the opening. And added that “with the health crisis that we are experiencing, making this virtual event opens up the opportunity for us to include experts from different countries. This undoubtedly enriches the exchange”.

For Cristian Munduate, UN Resident Coordinator in Panama “at the moment, societies are in crisis and economies are in a tailspin. This is an urgent call on the need to align efforts to build a less unequal world. It is time to take on new challenges”. For her part, Oris Sanjur, Interim Director of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, stressed that "together we must continue working for the success of events like this to seek the best for Panama and the world."

Juan Moreno, Director of CIDES, mentioned that "ENADES has the purpose of fostering a synergistic, collaborative and continuous work among the participating actors from co-responsibility and the differentiation of their roles."

ENADES 2020 maintains the tradition of having plenary sessions and technical sessions, in order to open and energize a space for multi-stakeholder, multi-level and multi-disciplinary dialogue, for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Panama, from a vision strategy applied to the needs of the country.
