Ciudad del Saber Foundation defines that those entities that intend to affiliate must meet the following criteria:

  • Mission: to develop from its physical presence at the Ciudad del Saber campus, activities aligned with innovation for social change, meaning that, through its products and services it solves massive problems for many people through innovation, technology, humanism and science.
  • Thematic: the entity must work directly related to technology, science, humanitarian affairs, human rights, education, health, creative industries and culture.
  • Innovation: develop activities that have no equivalent in the country or that use a methodology, tool or technology that, through research, provides a high level of differentiation.
  • Internationalization: the affiliation proposal must show that the project has a regional or international projection, which will mean covering multiple geographical areas, having a business model with the potential to scale and attract international talent capable of transferring knowledge and generating local capacity.
  • Collaboration: identify specific entities of the Ciudad del Saber community with which it is interested in forming strategic alliances that will be essential for the development of its operations and projects.
  • Sustainability: the entity must share an economic, environmental and social sustainability plan or, if it does not have one, it must commit to its development.

  • Local ID or passport of the legal representative
  • Public Registry Certificate (Certificado de Registro Público in Panama)
  • Document of incorporation of the company in Panama (Pacto Social in Panama)
  • Audited financial statements for the last year
  • Bank reference letter (minimum one)
  • Business reference letters (minimum two, can be suppliers or customers)
  • Corporate Deck about entity (Powerpoint or PDF)
  • Any other document that can support the quality, work, trajectory of the company.

Tax benefits that boost your business or project through tax exemption:

  • Sales Tax (ITBM) applicable to the affiliated operation.
  • Import tax on machinery, equipment, artifacts, systems that are key to guaranteeing the affiliated operation.
  • Tax on money sent abroad when the transaction is carried out to satisfy the needs of the project.
  • Income tax generated by the project.

  • Use of your accreditation of origin: International academic programs, innovative and highly differentiated from the national offer, will be able to establish their academic operation in the country using the accreditation of their country of origin without the need for national accreditation.
  • Special visas: the programs may attract to Panama professors, researchers, as well as executives with differentiated profiles that are essential for the development of their academic project. Additionally, international students may also facilitate their study visas.

Legislation

Entities that meet certain requirements and carry out the Affiliation process, have the additional advantage of receiving tax and migratory incentives granted to Ciudad del Saber by special legislation to promote research, innovation and the transfer of knowledge and technology.

The campus

The campus has a unique infrastructure and certified sustainable architecture. Rental spaces include a large auditorium, conference rooms, an athenaeum, lecture / meeting spaces and classrooms, all equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
