Tribute to Dr. Rodrigo Tarté at the City of Knowledge
During the “International Seminar on Roots, Nematodes and Black Sigatoka” that took place at the City of Knowledge Convention Center and the El Panama Hotel, an emotive tribute was paid to the deceased Dr. Rodrigo Tarté, ex Academic Director of the City of Knowledge Foundation and of the International Sustainable Development Center (CIDES).
The event’s inaugural act, made up of delegations from more than 30 countries, was made by Executive Director of the City of Knowledge Foundation, Jorge Arosemena, who emphasized the honor of paying tribute to the great work of Dr. Rodrigo Tarté, one of the City of Knowledge builders.
Dr. José Antonio Zaglul, President of EARTH University, offered a very emotional and descriptive biography, along with personal anecdotes, about the life and work of Dr. Rodrigo Tarté. Dr. Zaglul described him as an excellent human being and professional whose great achievements have left a huge impact in our society.
Subsequently the Ministry of Agricultural Development of Panama (MIDA), through its Minister Emilio Kieswetter, gave a commemorative plaque to the family of Dr. Tarté for his outstanding labor for the benefit of Agricultural and Forestry, Education and Social Development Sciences in Panama and Latin America.
