The Panama Jazz Festival begins at the City of Knowledge
The start of the 9th Edition of the Panama Jazz Festival, whose workshops, clinics, auditions and evening concerts will be held at the City of Knowledge, was celebrated with a ceremony at the Convention Center on Monday, January 16.
The presentation included a welcome panel made up by Ken Schaphorst, Director of Jazz at the New England Conservatory in Boston (USA), Panamanian saxophonist Carlos Garnett, Danilo Perez, Founder and Artistic Director of the PJF, Jorge Arosemena, Executive Director of the City of Knowledge Foundation and Tom Patitucci, guitar player who will dictate several workshops.
The Panama Jazz Festival is a very special event that brings together hundreds of people who share hopes and dreams through music. The City of Knowledge Foundation has made a great effort to incorporate the cultural / artistic conviction that human beings should develop fully, therefore becoming the world center for jazz this week.
The ceremony ended with a small musical performance as a prelude to the courses, clinics and workshops that began at 10:00 am and that will continue until Friday, January 20.
