The City of Knowledge Foundation participates in Plan International campaign
In the context of the International Day of the Girl Child, Plan International, NGO whose regional office is based at the City of Knowledge, drives the initiative «Raise your hands for girls» as part of its Because I am a Girl campaign, in which they hope to obtain through images 4 million hands raised to show support for girls and education.
In this regard the City of Knowledge Foundation supported this initiative through a photo of more than 50 people from its staff, with hands raised, in front of the Main Building.
To participate in this project please send a photo in low resolution, with your hands raised, to: email@example.com before Friday, July 27.
Because I am a Girl is Plan’s campaign to fight gender inequality, promote girls rights and lift millions of girls out of poverty. Across the world, girls face double discrimination due to their gender and age, leaving them at the bottom of the social ladder. Girls are less likely to go to school or have access to medical care, and are more likely to be deprived of food. They experience more violence and sexual harassment and are forced to work hard on domestic chores, limiting their opportunities to develop.
