Syracuse University visits the City of Knowledge
A group of academics and researchers from the College of Engineering and Computer Science from Syracuse University (USA) held a meeting with Professor Jorge Arosemena and Dr. Guillermo Castro, Executive and Academic Director, respectively, of the City of Knowledge Foundation.
The meeting identified opportunities for collaboration between both organizations, in fields ranging from internships to academic programs of interest to Panama, including in all cases the use of potential synergies with other universities, companies and international organizations that the City of Knowledge offers.
In January 2011, a group of students and faculty members of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CIE), of the LC Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science of Syracuse University, spent a week at City of Knowledge surveying the grounds and conducting topographical research. The reason was to investigate and find a way to redesign the drainage system on campus in order to save more water and reduce runoff. The team of students and faculty members performed field tasks that were discussed with the infrastructure team of the City of Knowledge.
Activities such as these reinforce the excellent relationship between The City of Knowledge and Syracuse University.
