Suriname delegation visits the City of Knowledge
In order to perform actions that will improve the competitiveness of Suriname, the Minister for Trade and Industry and distinguished members of a delegation from the same country, visited the City of Knowledge on Wednesday, September 12, and were received by Manuel Lorenzo, Director of the Panama Business Accelerator (AEP).
In order to learn about best practices, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and networking, the Suriname IDB sponsored the visit of this delegation composed by the Minister for Trade and Industry, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, the Head of the Suriname Business Forum, and 6 experts that make up the Competitiveness Enhancement Technical Unit. The group had a chance to learn about the work and efforts of the City of Knowledge and the AEP towards improving the country’s competitiveness.
Engineer Manuel Lorenzo gave a presentation on the history, achievements and progress of the City of Knowledge project but more specifically about the Business Accelerator, a space where the competitive maturity process of dynamic business undertakings is facilitated and accelerated mainly through leverage of contacts, and other support value-added services. The AEP is the leading promoter of business and entrepreneurial culture in the country and has become the center of Panama’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. They have also supported the creation of other business incubators in Panama.
After a presentation by SENACYT highlighting their aim to strengthen, support, lead and promote the development of science, technology and innovation, the Suriname delegation enjoyed a tour of the campus that ended with a visit to the City of Knowledge Business Accelerator.
