The campaign launch was held on February 14, at the Riu Hotel, with the participation of several executives of the various organizations involved in this campaign, which highlighted the crucial role of families in stimulating the integral development of the infant and the importance of providing love and security to children. The First Lady of Panama, Marta Linares de Martinelli, supported this event.
The event involved a presentation by Dr. Regino Pineiro, Cuban endocrinologist, who delighted the audience with his keynote address on «Addressing the Children from the field of neuroscience.» Furthermore, Ms. Raiza Ruiz, Project Officer of UNICEF Panama, presented a study on the Need for Investment in Children.
The first years are very important in the lives of children because it is when they experience a greater brain development as well as physical, intellectual and spiritual growth. Children today are the citizens of tomorrow, if given food, encouragement and protection they will become healthy, confident, competitive, productive and responsible citizens able to participate and contribute to national development.
