OEI supports Black History in Panama Conference
With a large gathering the Black History in Panama Conference, supported by the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), based in the City of Knowledge, was held.
Historian Aminta Núñez shared stories with the audience about the origins of black people in Panama during this event, which was held as part of Black Ethnicity Day.
The conference was attended by Ms. Monica Vargas, Coordinator IDIE / OEI, Yariela Vega, representing the SEGIB, the Mayor of the province of Colón, directives of the Colon Free Zone, professors at the University of Panama, civil society and members of the Black Ethnicity Foundation of Colón.
The event was graced by a folkloric ballet that provided the artistic touch of the evening with dances representing African descent culture.
