OEI Stand at the Afrofestival 2012
The Organization of Ibero-American States, based in the City of Knowledge, participated with a booth at the International Afrofestival 2012, which took place at the Continental Hotel. This great event educated visitors about the African descent culture in our country and in countries like the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Honduras, represented by their embassies.
The Afrofestival provided the perfect setting for several lectures and conversations related to Black Ethnic groups in Panama and the role of women of African descent. Likewise, students presented dances and dramatizations while food was also present at the stands that gathered there.
These activities had their closing with a gala dinner at the Continental Hotel, where special guests tasted delicious dishes of African descent culture.
OEI feels extremely pleased to have supported this initiative, hoping to have given prominence to the culture of African descent in Panama.
