OEI awards contest winners

The Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI), based in the City of Knowledge, regarding Black Ethnicity Month and as part of the AfroFestival Celebration, awarded the winners of the Contest Ruta Corredor Cultural Caribe Centroamericano and Photo Contest «Panama, Afrodescendant Heart.»,  which highlights the African descent culture in the country.

Winners of the Contest Ruta Corredor Cultural Caribe Centroamericano were:

Painting Category: student José L. Saldaña of the Instituto David.

Literary Arts Category: student Maylin Jiménez Quintero of the ESNO center at Chichica de Muná, Comarca Ngabe Bugle.

Both winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Congress of Latin American languages ​​to be held at the city of Salamanca, Spain, in September 2012.

In the Photo Contest: «Panama, Afrodescendant Heart.», winners: Eunice Castillo, Elena Vasquez Sadya, Acevedo and Tomas Castillo Idelfonso, were rewarded with a prize of $200 each.

The event counted with the presence of Ms. Melissa Wong, Resident Director of OEI, and Ms. Deborah Miller and Selvia Miller of the Black Ethnicity Foundation of Colón, Panamá.
