Luis Eduardo Garzón, former mayor of Bogotá, visits the City of Knowledge

On Tuesday, August 28, Professor Jorge Arosemena, Executive Director of the City of Knowledge Foundation, received the former Mayor of Bogotá, Luis Eduardo Garzón, who was visiting to take part in the forum «Development of Municipalities of Panama in a growing country”, which was held at the Ateneo.

During the meeting, which counted with the participation of Irene Perurena, Director of International Organizations and Cooperation, Eduardo Araújo, Manager of Cultural Affairs, and Myriam Calvo, Planning and Development Manager, Mr. Garzón got to learn about the City of Knowledge project since its inception, the Development Master Plan and the Sustainable City strategy.

Luis Eduardo Garzón, who was Mayor of Bogotá from 2004 to 2007, is considered one of the architects of the great transformation that occurred in that city during the past 15 years.

At the forum held in the Ateneo, organized by Radio Panama, Garzón spoke about policies and projects adopted in recent years by the citizens and authorities of Bogotá, which have produced the current level of social and cultural development in the Colombian capital.
