Conference: Economic Empowerment of Women
The United States Embassy, in cooperation with the City of Knowledge Business Accelerator, presented the conference “Helping businesses to grow, with a special focus in the economic empowerment of women”, by Nell Merlino.
Nell Merlino is the Founder and President of “Count Me in for Women’s Economic Independence”. This Organization, headquartered in the United States, provides resources to women so that they can make their businesses grow from a small business to a millionaire company.
During her visit to the City of Knowledge Business Accelerator, Nell Merlino spoke about her experience as a mentor of her communication company and shared advice related on good leadership and the responsibility of giving something back to society through mentoring.
Nell Merlino is the author of many books that empower businesswomen and inspire them to take action. She has been the creative force in “Take your daughter to work Day”, which has led more than 71 million Americans to participate in a day dedicated to bring young girls hopes of a better future. Besides, she is also the founder and president of Strategy Communication Action, Ltd. (SCA) located in New York City, which is a law firm that specializes in the creation of public education campaigns that motivate people to act; she is also a member of the Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy (ACIEP) of the U.S. Department of State and has been named Pathways Envoy by the same U.S. Department of State to promote women business growth from North America to South America.
The conference included the participation of successful Panamanian women with business dreams and projects that, with the advice on female leadership, had the opportunity to attend a very passionate, interesting and instructive conference.
