City of Knowledge at the Global Development Learning Network
The City of Knowledge Foundation participated in the global meetings of the centers for the Global Development Learning Networks (GDLN) at Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The meetings drew many important representatives from centers in Africa, Asian-pacific, Europe and Latin America.
The Global Development Learning Network (GDLN) is based on the notion that knowledge is key for development and that the innovative use of technologies offers a great platform to access knowledge in developing countries. Through the implementation of modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the GDLN makes possible a new range of learning formats based on the frequent contact between similars and experts that complement the conventional methods of ability formation and international dialogue.
Isabel Donato, Project Manager for the Academic Department of the City of Knowledge, took part in the business session of GDLN global and regional (Asia/Africa) and managed to identify new opportunities for cooperation between members. She also presented the City of Knowledge project, with great success, in the “6th International Conference on ICT for Development, Education and Training” (E-Learning Africa 2011).
This initiative is, without a doubt, a clear example of how the City of Knowledge Foundation is looking to promote alliances that allow the creation of projects for developing synergies between global nets of information and communication involving countries from the entire world.
