Changes and Exchanges at TEDxCiudadDelSaber
TEDxCiudadDelSaber was held on March 21, before an audience of 100 special guests and a live broadcast that allowed several hundred people to watch the event through a website.
TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) is an annual event that brings together the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share ideas worth spreading in many different fields of human knowledge that are shaping our future. The lectures given at these events can be viewed through the website www.ted.com With the same objective, TEDx are independently organized events, based on guidance provided by TED, that involve presenters selected by the organizer.
TEDxCiudadDelSaber speakers were chosen based on their outstanding careers in their various professional fields, all being encouraged to develop their presentations around the general theme «Changes and Exchanges: platforms, mechanisms, technologies and conditions for the exchange of ideas, experiences, cultures, assets and resources, to generate paradigm shifts in multiple aspects of society today. «
Participants of TEDxCiudadDelSaber were: archaeologist Julia Mayo, President of the Caño Foundation; economist Carlota Perez, visiting researcher at the London School of Economics; musician Danilo Pérez, creator of the Panama Jazz Festival; engineer Alberto Alemán Zubieta, Administrator of the Panama Canal; and Dr. Juan Humberto Young, President of R & B Engineering AG; as well as guest artists Chelín Núñez Trio.
