CAPATEC and the City of Knowledge officially launch BIZ FIT PANAMA 2012
Panama will become the Innovation Hub of the Americas with the celebration of the international event: BIZ FIT PANAMA 2012, from the 22nd to the 23rd of October 2012. Representatives of the Panamanian Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (CAPATEC) and the Venture Club made this known at a press conference.
In the presence of more than 20 sponsors, Jaime Blanco, President of CAPATEC, said that Panama is experiencing a very important economic moment in history.
«This moment represents a unique opportunity so that we can become an Export Hub for Information Technology. BIZ FIT PANAMA 2012, organized by CAPATEC and Venture Club, aims to provide a window of innovative experiences for Panamanian businessmen that seek the same end,» said Blanco.
The celebration of the 4th BIZ FIT PANAMA 2012, to be held at the City of Knowledge Convention Center, will bring great and innovative surprises that will capture the attention of many. The organizers promise to provide entrepreneurs, business executives and the general public, a great event with an international reputation.
Visitors can enjoy, on Monday, October 22, at 6:30 p.m., the special participation of Saul Singer, co-author of the best seller Start-up Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle, who will present to attendees the keys to turn a country like ours into a Start-up nation.
Manuel Lorenzo, Manager of the Venture Club, said that hearing to what Saul Singer has to say is key for Panama to get properly inserted in the knowledge economy.
«Panama is on track to move from an efficiency based economy to an economy based on innovation, and that requires a vision that Saul Singer has masterfully managed to collect in relation to the experience of Israel,» noted Lorenzo.
«We have become an important country for massive film productions. Therefore, on Tuesday, October 23, at 8:00 a.m., as promotion of the Film Law recently passed last August in Panama, we plan to deliver the conference: «Nonstop to Hollywood» – digital design for large productions» mentioned Blanco during the question exchange with the national and foreign press.
In this sense, international guests Kino Scialabba and Carlos Argüello, will tell their story as the creators of special effects of recognized films in the world of performing arts such as: Avatar and The Chronicles of Narnia, among others.
BIZ FIT PANAMA 2012 takes place for the fourth consecutive year, with the support of renowned institutions as the City of Knowledge Foundation (FCDS), the National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG), The National Institute of Vocational Training for Human Development (INADEH), and the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT), plus sponsors who support the activity year after year.
