BIZ FIT PANAMA 2012 at the City of Knowledge
On October 22, 2012, the Panamanian Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (CAPATEC) and the Venture Club, inaugurated the fourth version of BIZ FIT PANAMA 2012, under the theme: «Panama: Innovation Hub of the Americas».
BIZ FIT PANAMA 2012 began with the special participation of Saul Singer, co-author of the best seller Start-up Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle, who presented to attendees the keys to turn a country like ours into a Start-up nation.
Manuel Lorenzo, Manager of the Venture Club, said that the participation of Saul Singer has provided unique contributions for Panama to get properly inserted in the knowledge economy.
«As expected, Singer has given us light for a country which is on its way to becoming an economy based on innovation, and I say innovation since Panama is experiencing a rapid growth and a significant increase in the levels of competitiveness that puts us on track to move from an efficiency based economy to an economy based on innovation,» noted Lorenzo, Director of the City of Knowledge Business Accelerator.
For Jaime Blanco, President of CAPATEC, Panama is experiencing a significant economic moment compared to other countries in the region. «With this initiative we hope to bring innovative practices to entrepreneurs and business executives so they can use them in their businesses and raise their competitiveness,» he said.
