2011 National Oratory Contest Provincial Final at the Ateneo
The Ateneo at the City of Knowledge was crowded with young students from 15 different schools from the Province of Panama in order to celebrate the Provincial Final of the 2011 Cable & Wireless National Oratory Contest.
The Panama Provincial Final counted with the 15 best speakers motivated to build a prosperous future for the country. The students spoke about the subject: My education is self-improvement. A Project of Life. Making it very clear that more young people in Panama are willing to dream about the improvement of education and thus the improvement of the present and future of the country. In this case the winner was Leidis Caicedo, of the National Institute of Panama, who will represent the province in the great final on November 3, 2011, at the Atlapa Convention Center.
The National Oratory Contest was organized by the “Caja de Ahorros” from 1970 to 1998. During those years a multitude of young students from different schools of Panama marked important guidelines in the development of their personalities, through these educational experiences, and thus nowadays reaching important national and international positions. Since 2005, Cable & Wireless Panamá assumed the official sponsorship of the contest and thus elevated its media exposure and price money.
The seventh version of the National Oratory Contest is the culmination of a selection process of more than 10 thousand students all across Panama, which participated in classification rounds that will conclude the day of the final on November 13, 2011.
