Roberto Delgado and his Orchestra at the Ateneo

On Friday, March 2, at 8:00 p.m., bassist, arranger, singer and producer Roberto Delgado will be performing at the Ateneo along with his orchestra.

Roberto Delgado is one of the leading musicians of the Salsa genre in Panama. Since his beginnings in the mid 70’s he has been influenced by the music of Benny Moré, Luis Perico Ortiz, Johnny Pacheco, Papo Lucca, Eddie Palmieri, Tommy Olivencia, Bobby Valentin, Cheo Feliciano, Ruben Blades and the Fania All Stars, among others.

After university studies in Mexico and California, Roberto returned to Panama to work as a recording engineer and producer in various musical projects as well as in various ensembles and orchestras as a bassist, singer and arranger. It was in 1996 that he formed his famous orchestra.
