Malena Muyala at the Ateneo

With a repertoire that includes tangos, waltzes and milongas, the Uruguayan singer-songwriter Malena Muyala will be performing on Wednesday, May 30, at 8:00 p.m., at the City of Knowledge Ateneo.
Awarded with Gold and Platinum records for all her albums, Malena has an extensive national and international career as well as a personal style of interpretation. She is the first woman in Uruguayan music to receive the «Woman of the Year» and «Outstanding Person» awards, in addition to being declared «Distinguished Citizen of Montevideo.» Her art has led her to participate in numerous international festivals, shows abroad and various social campaigns.
Malena Muyala has become the leading female tango voice within the new generations. But besides her voice and phrasing, her stage presence, style and skills as composer reaffirm her as the most complete figure that has emerged recently from the rioplatensescene.
Admission is free. Tickets can be collected at the offices of the Embassy (Phone: 264-2838), Avenida Balboa, Los Delfines Building, Mezzanine, Office 8 or at the offices of the City of Knowledge Foundation (Phone: 317-0111), Building 104, Clayton; starting Monday, May 21. Tickets will also be available at the box office the day of the show, although this will depend on the availability of these the day of the concert.
