Recognized as one of the most important representatives of the Brazilian Viola, this virtuoso musician is always looking for new roads and sound experiments that will surprise listeners on Thursday, June 21, 8:00 p.m. at the City of Knowledge Ateneo.
Fernando Sodré, who won the Excellence Award in Brazilian Viola in 2010 and in the same year was one of the winners of the festival «Voa Viola» in Brazil, not only stands out nationally for originality in his work but also for his ability to play the Viola and guitar. In addition, Sodré has innovated, in collaboration with Hootz Lutería, in creating the 14-string Viola, a unique instrument with more harmonic extension.
Fernando Sodré demonstrates his passion for music and the Viola while increasing his instrumental composition. The concert «River of Contrasts», to be performed at the Ateneo, stages the result of all the information on music and life of a musician who’s looking for the perfection of the instrument and the assessment of the composition. His work is innovative both in the execution of unexplored parts of his instrument, and in the formation of his work, which unites the Brazilian Viola with musical genres like choro, samba and jazz.
