The City of Knowledge Interpretative Center (House Museum) held the conference “Study of the urbanism of old Fort Clayton”, by Graciela Arosemena, Almyr Alba and Rodrigo Guardia.
The conferences that were given were a summary of the progress of the research “Historical study of the urbanism of Fort Clayton and the assessment of its bioregional approach”.
In them we got to see historical evidences about the applied urbanism by the North Americans in the Fort Clayton, historical information on the evolution of the urban development of Clayton and the influence of the bioregional planning. Also, urban theoretical antecedents were contrasted at the level of American civil and military urbanism.
To summarize, the speakers showed how American housing and zoning policies influenced the resulting image of Clayton that we have today.
