International Center for Sustainable Development – CIDES
The Centro Internacional de Desarrollo Sostenible – CIDES (International Center for Sustainable Development) is a multi-organizational network dedicated to promoting the integral management of knowledge for sustainable development, bringing together its social, economic, political, cultural, scientific, technological, and natural aspects.
It operates through an international strategic partnership that comprises academic, scientific, governmental, non-governmental, and entrepreneurial entities, as well as international organizations. It serves decision-makers and development agents in the design of strategies, policies and initiatives that simultaneously link social, economic and environmental objectives.
The City of Knowledge Foundation established CIDES after the initiative was officially presented by the Government of Panama at the World Summit on Sustainable Development held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2002.
