General Services Office Support-Driver/Clerk

The General Services Office Support (GSOS) is responsible for the administrative and logistical support to the country program. Provides safe and courteous transport for staff, volunteers and other personnel conducting official Peace Corps business. Drives volunteers and USDH staff to/from the airport and may act as an expediter in assisting travelers with customs and immigration procedures. Be on call for emergency situations throughout the country when a driver is needed. Works as the back-up Receptionist. This person will also serve as the back-up of other admin staff when needed.
- Drives PC staff, visitors, contractors, volunteers/trainees, and training staff to destinations in and possibly out of Panama.
- Ensures cleaning and washing of all PC vehicles inside and out.
3.Picks up/deliver mail, documents, and packages to designated sites on a daily or as needed basis.
4.Perform required errands, to include purchase of local supplies, conduct market basket surveys, and payment of bills (checks & cash) to local suppliers and picking up invoices.
- Works as back-up of the office Receptionist while absences and/or high load seasons, main tasks could be, but not limited to, whereabouts, leave request, other volunteer data entries within database.
- Assists moving of furniture, equipment and retrieving supplies from storage as needed.
- Assists the Management and Operations Unit with the File Management according to the regulations.
8.Provides general office support, including but not limited to clerical tasks.
Candidates will be determined to meet the minimum qualifications of this advertisement if they submit a complete application by the deadline and demonstrate evidence of having met the following qualification criteria in their application materials:
·Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Administration or in a field related to the position, or a university student with two years progressively responsible experience with clerical and/or secretarial knowledge of administrative duties.
·Experience in the field: Three or more years of experience driving in the city as well as in remote areas of Panama.
·Experience in the administrative field: Two 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in administration.
·Language Proficiency: Speaks, reads, and writes Spanish and English fluently (minimum of Intermediate Level/Good Working Knowledge of English)
·Experience within a multicultural organization: One year or more of experience working in a multicultural environment at an US Government Agency or other international organization.
·Soft Skills: Strong organization and time management skills, interpersonal communication skills, willingness to take initiative, excels working in a team and individually, strong service attitude, personal integrity, flexibility, and a strong interest in Panama’s development.
·Computer literate Ability to operate in core Microsoft Office applications including: advanced Excel and database skills; Word skills; PowerPoint skills; and other Peace Corps digital management systems.
·Schedule: Ability to work a Monday through Friday schedule with evening and weekend hours when necessary and during emergencies, including traveling throughout Panama at times.
·Driving: A valid driver’s license and stated availability to travel (driving 4x4 official vehicles with manual transmissions). Applicants call for Interview will get a driving test.
·Work Permit: Applicants must possess a Panamanian work permit for at least 2 years unless Panamanian or US citizens.

Salary and Benefits
$854.00 (gross monthly salary, plus bonus, health/life insurance, and transportation allowance). This is a Personal-Service Contractor (PSC)/local hire position.
