On Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7, the workshop on "Capture, Management, Release and Post-Release Monitoring of Jaguars in Panama" was held at the City of Knowledge, with the distinguished participation of Ricardo Moreno and Antonio de la Torre, recognized feline expert from the Institute of Ecology of the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

The objective of the workshop was to strengthen the capacities to guide the standardized actions for the capture, management and release of jaguars and big felines in Panama. The workshop considered the theoretical aspects prior to the field training that will be carried out in Darién where it is expected to capture 1 or 2 species. From the results of the workshop, the technical procedure for the draft of the National Protocol will be prepared at the City of Knowledge to be approved by MIAMBIENTE.

This workshop was given thanks to the efforts of MIAMBIENTE, SENACYT, Yaguará Panama and City of Knowledge.
