Results presentation of foresight exercises on water, education and health
The City of Knowledge Foundation held the “Foresight exercises on water, education and health: Results presentation”, on Friday, March 17 at the City of Knowledge Training and Business Center.
The activity began with welcoming words by Professor Jorge Arosemena, Executive President of the City of Knowledge Foundation, who recalled that "we are talking about very good and professional exercises and it is very important to take the time to study their results carefully."
The City of Knowledge Foundation decided to socialize foresight in Panama in alliance with other national and international actors (IALE Tecnología of Barcelona, the University of Medellin and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana of Colombia), through training activities such as the realization of three practical theoretical workshops of foresight developed in 2015, its incorporation in international foresight networks and last year with development of three foresight exercises for Panama, in the thematic areas on water, education and health, with a time horizon towards the year 2040.
The foresight exercises consist of developing different paths of a system towards a given horizon, concluding with a select group of futures scenarios, whose inputs will serve as an important contribution to strategic decision making, more flexible planning, programs and projects.
National experts participated, contributing their knowledge and experiences in these thematic areas, using different methodologies of foresight.
The workshops were structured in two sessions held in the same day (morning and afternoon sessions). After the workshops were completed, the results were integrated into the foresight reports on each topic under consideration: Water, education and health.
The City of Knowledge Foundation identifies foresight as an important research process whose results are important for the growth and development of Panama. We believe that this initiative will serve to generate significant contributions to the desired future of Panama by the year 2040.
