CDS companies among finalists for best business innovation
Companies Logic Studio, S.A., Image Network Corporation and Absorption Systems Panama, all based at the City of Knowledge, were among the finalists of the 10th edition of the National Award for Business Innovation, given by the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) and the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP).
The National Award for Business Innovation is a recognition that is given to companies established in Panama that have created innovative products or services, or that use some kind of innovative process in the manufacture of their products. This year, the launch of the public call of the prize attracted proposals from companies from different sectors looking to consecrate themselves as the most innovative.
The company that managed to reach the title of the most innovative among the 36 who ran in the 2016 call, was Asesorías y Sistemas Internacionales, S.A. through its project "Viewscan Visual Integration System". The Rojas Pardini Clinic took second place with the project "Pardini Treatment for the Management of Neurological Diseases of Unknown Origin such as Guillain-Barré Syndrome and Multiple Sclerosis", while the third place went to the company Osmo Coronado, S.A., with its project "First aid kits customized to suit customers." Finalists who occupied the fourth to tenth place, and who earned an economic prize, were: West Corporation, S.A., PopCorn Labs Inc., Logic Studio, S.A., Ubiqua, S.A., Image Network Corporation, Absorption Systems Panama Inc., and Global Network Solutions.
Dr. Jorge A. Motta, National Secretary of SENACYT, noted that "in the last 10 years we have awarded more than 30 Panamanian companies whose innovative projects have marked a milestone in a national level and some of them have crossed national borders, successfully positioning themselves internationally." For SENACYT, these activities are essential to further promote interest in companies to adopt innovative processes and thus improve the level of competitiveness in Panama.
Meanwhile Carlos G. Fernández, President of CCIAP, said, "for the CCIAP, innovation is of great importance for the competitiveness and development of the country. This has led us to undertake projects aimed at stimulating entrepreneurship and implementation of strategies that promote the innovative capacity of companies, especially in technology, reason why we have joined forces again with SENACYT for the National Award for Business Innovation 2016".
