On June 4, 2013, the City of Knowledge Athenaeum will host renowned pianists George Mathew and Mark Kuss in the musical concert Panama for the Children of Syria. This concert aims to raise awareness about the situation that children in this country are facing, and contribute with financial resources to meet the basic needs of more than 600 000 children affected by civil war in Syria.

The concert is organized by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the City of Knowledge Foundation, the Risk Emergency Disaster Working Group for Latin America and the Caribbean (REDLAC) and Music For Life International, which has scheduled a series of musical events for the benefit of Syrian children. These will culminate in a final concert on January 13, 2014, at Carnegie Hall in New York.

The entry fee is $ 25, and all proceeds will be donated to UNICEF to address needs such as clean water, medical care, food, warm clothing, among others, and contribute to help Syrian children who are temporarily refugees in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and other countries in the region. Panamanian children, who will donate their musical talents to contribute to children in Syria, will join the activity.

Tickets can be acquired at the offices of the City of Knowledge Foundation, UNICEF and UNDP.
