Global Assurance Senior
Posted on July 12, 2018 by PLAN
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.
We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
Global Assurance is part of Plan International’s governance framework and has been established to provide independent, objective assurance, internal audit, and consulting services designed to add value and improve Plan’s operations. It helps Plan International accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
The role of the Global Assurance Senior, though part of Plan International´s internal audit function is not your typical audit role. As a Global Assurance Senior, you will build upon audit principles but require a combination of problem solving, process improvement, and systems thinking to reduce risk and enhance performance of the organisation. Ideally we prefer experience or knowledge in technology, business analysis, project design and implementation, or quality and risk management.
Though audit experience is a plus, it is not the most crucial experience. We also appreciate experience in the international development sector, and familiarity with the complexities of working in a not-for-profit industry driving complex social change where stakeholders include donors, community members, families, children, civil society, and government actors. But if you have the core competencies and a proven track record in other industries, we welcome you to apply and join an exciting and rewarding sector.
