Job Purpose

The Information Management Intern is responsible for providing support to the Information Management Integral and Integrated (IMII) system for National Society Development (NSD ) deliverables, and to collaborate with the Information Management for NSD roadmap

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the standardization of data sets and other matters involved (format, connectivity)
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures on data sets updating
  • Prepare manuals and instructions on updating data sets
  • Participate in design, development, and implementation of NSD dashboard and other products
  • Participate in design of NSD column Information Management roadmap and strategy
  • Participate in design of NSD applications/tools map
  • Perform any other duties regarding Information Management if required

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Computer Science related University degree.

Experience

  • Not required

Knowledge, skills, and languages

  • Knowledge of current and emerging IT trends
  • Data analytics skills and techniques
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets (or similar spreadsheet tool) skills
  • Database skills (preferred)
  • Dashboard or data visualization skills (preferred)
  • Understanding of software development logic
  • Understanding of key concepts and technologies related to data management

Languages:

  • Fluently spoken and written Spanish
  • Fluently spoken and written English (preferred)

  • Interns are not entitled to a salary or benefits from the Federation
  • The Federation will provide the intern with a daily allowance which will serve to cover the cost of meals and other related expenses
  • Interns are not eligible for payment of overtime
  • Interns are solely responsible for making their own logistical arrangements (visa, travel, accommodation, insurance, etc.) as well as for their cost prior to starting the internship
  • The IFRC accepts no responsibility to provide medical insurance, or for costs arising from accidents and illness incurred during the internship. Interns are required to provide a copy of their health and accident insurance certification
  • This internship is open to local and international applicants who are currently-enrolled in a university or equivalent level or have graduated recently (normally within 1 year from the date of hiring) in an area that is compatible with the above description
